As the 4th UN Financing for Development (FfD4) conference unfolds in Sevilla, Debt for Climate will be hosting a powerful parallel space: the Decolonial Territory. This cultural hub is more than a side event – it’s a convergence point for those fighting to dismantle colonial, capitalist systems and build just, people-powered alternatives.

Why We’re Organising This Space

The official FfD4 process is riddled with hypocrisy, driven by the same powers that profit off Global South debt while dodging debt and climate responsibilities. That’s why we're creating an alternative space rooted in solidarity, resistance, and strategy.

The ‘Decolonial Territory’ will:

  • Centre our struggles for climate, economic, social, and ecological justice

  • Amplify demands for unconditional debt cancellation and grant-based climate finance

  • Discuss Global South-led alternatives

  • Link campaigns building toward COP30, Jubilee 2025, and beyond

  • Create a bold, creative space for strategy, storytelling, and collaboration

What’s On at the Cultural Hub

In the face of failure of FfD4 allowing meaningful engagement of civil society during the Conference, we are inviting you all to an alternative space organised by Debt for Climate together with ODG, CAONGD, Debt Justice UK, L'Anonima, Glasgow Action Team and Eurodad.

The Hub is an alternative platform, aiming to connect, strengthen, and amplify movements fighting for radical alternatives, such as unconditional debt cancellation, grant-based climate finance, post-growth economics, and other decolonial perspectives. Designed to build momentum toward future mobilisations, like COP30 and Jubilee campaigns, the space offers inclusive and creative programming open to all. Participants include local and global grassroots movements, artists and students.

You don’t need a UN badge! Just smiles, tenacity, community, and imagination.

Create protest materials with us (27-28th June), march with us during the CSO protest (29th of June), discuss with us, and disrupt with us (30th June - 3 July). From creative interventions to fiery street actions, we'll make sure the voice of the Global South and frontline struggles for debt justice cannot be ignored.

We know many of you will be exhausted by the FfD4 negotiations – the bureaucracy, the bad faith, the uphill struggle. That’s exactly why we’ve created this space: to reconnect with purpose, each other, and the bigger picture.

There’ll be snacks, drinks, and solidarity waiting for you. Join us!
